The motorcycle has only had one previous owner and was in relatively little use as the low mileage shows. The bike is in original condition. A duplicate of the certificate of conformity was issued as the original document is lost.
The iconic touring motorbike from the Italian manufacturer was designed by Philippe Starck (born in 1949). The French furniture and product designer completed the Ecole Nissim de Camondo in 1967 and worked for renowned companies like Driade, Kartell and Alessi. Entire hotel and restaurant interiors, textiles, technical appliances and consumer goods – there is hardly any field in which Philippe Starck has not applied his creativity to. The Aprilia Motó 6.5 was presented in Bologna in autumn 1994. The heart of the naked motorcycle is the water-cooled Rotax four-stroke one-cylinder engine. A cubic capacity of 650 ccm has a performance of 31 kW (42 hp) with a maximum torque of 52 Nm at 4500 rpm, reaching a maximum speed of 158 km/. Engine vibrations are absorbed by a balance shaft, engine sounds by one front muffler and two silencers. Owed to poor demand production was stopped in 1994, which is why the Motó 6.5 is a rare classic today. The motorbike has also served as an art object: It was presented in the exhibition “The Art of the Motorcycle“ (1998-2003) at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York and at the Guggenheim in Las Vegas.
