Additional Information & Condition
The six Benelli brothers founded the company in a garage in Pesaro/Italy in 1911. In the 1950s Benelli made racing history. Benelli won the racing world cup with Dario Ambrosini in 1950 and the world cup in the 250-ccm class with Kel Carruthers in 1969. An Argentinian businessman took over Benelli in 1971. Due to a lack of demand, production of motorcycles was abandoned in the mid 1980s. It was resumed in 1992 under the management of Andrea Merloni.
This Benelli 250 is an exact replica of the racing motorcycle from 1968. Frame, engine and all details conform to the original and come from old stocks. The motorcycle's cover panel was reproduced. After original parts had been compiled on markets and classic motorcycle events for years, this motorcycle was eventually completed in 2013. The Benelli 250 has no racing history, as it consisted of original parts, as mentioned above. Because of the frame the year of production is dated 1968. As the photos show, it clearly is an eyecatcher and should find an owner who values it. It is fully functioning and should soon be presented at historic motorcycle events.
